This was a very fun application taking advantage of old style hot asphalt roofing and the newest co-polymer alloy TPO roofing. We removed three layers of roofing from the back porch flat roof. We re-nailed the sheathing as is required by the Florida Building Code. A base sheet was attached using tin tags and nails. Then, we applied a modified bitumen rolled roofing using hat asphalt. this system served as a temporary roof until we could return the next day to finish. We then installed tappered insulation to provide possessive drains and make sure water will not pond on the roof. Next we installed the reflective white TPO roofing and tucket it in shingle fashion neatly under that tile tile underlayment. The final roofing system is perfect.
